Owner of C&C Makeup Artists uses social media platforms in order to promote smear test awareness by offering clients a 50% discount.
It’s no secret that there’s a universal sense of dread amongst some women when it comes to getting a cervical screening. Fear of the unknown and (popular) rhetorical question ‘is my vagina normal?’ are amongst the reasons as to why women across Great Britain are still boycotting such a crucial appointment.

This is why Chloe Blackburn is offering clients a promotional discount if they attend their appointment.
MUA Chloe Blackburn, 23, from Newcastle upon Tyne said:
“I decided to offer this discount as my auntie had cervical cancer, so I think it’s very important for people to get checked. It’s also Cervical Cancer awareness month, so it’s a reward for people who get a smear.”
It isn’t just Chloe offering discounts when it comes to campaigning for #SmearForSmear, as various other beauticians and hairdressers have also joined forces to raise awareness. Then we have the influencers, who have Vlogged their appointments.
So when THAT letter comes through the door after turning twenty-five it’s time to book an appointment! A slightly awkward five minutes could prevent cancer… and a discounted makeover doesn’t sound half that bad!
